J MICHAEL ALBANO FOUNDER   Mike has over 27 years of general accounting experience, including specialized tax training while employed with the international accounting firm of PEAT, MARWICK and MITCHELL, now known as KPMG. He has concentrated his services to small business clients and individuals, offering his expertise in tax matters, tax planning and personal financial planning.  He has also gained experience in estate tax planning, and assists many clients with estate administration.  He graduated from Pulaski High School, Pulaski, Virgina and in 1976 he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Virginia Polytechnical Institute and State University He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants and being a registered investment advisor.  Mike is also affiliated with Kuehl, Shepherd, Koslowski and Associates. A member of the First United Methodist Church, Mike has served in seveal leadership roles, as well as being a Sunday School Teacher.  He is a certified lay speaker for the United Methodist Church. He has been a Co-Director of Upward Basketball since its introduction into the Marion Community.  Mike was honored when named 2003 Rotary Citizen of the Year A member of the Smyth County Chamber of Commerce, Mike has also served as a former member of various Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountant committees.
